How many table numbers do I need?
One marker per reception table in your seating chart — plus a spare if you like. If the wedding seating chart maker shows 12 tables, print 12 markers (1–12 or twelve unique names).
Do not count:
- The sweetheart table twice unless it has its own display label
- Cocktail rounds that are not assigned seating
- Head-table extras that share one label
Where to put table numbers
Place them where a standing guest can read the label without walking around the centerpiece:
- Near the centerpiece, slightly elevated if flowers are tall
- Facing the main approach aisle when possible
- Not hidden behind tall arrangements or stacked favor boxes

The reception stationery pipeline
- Seating chart — who sits at which table (maker)
- Table numbers / names — markers on each table (guide, maker)
- Entrance — Find Your Seat poster and/or escort cards
- Seats — wedding place cards
British English tip: table numbers means the markers. A table plan usually means the seating chart — not the card on the table.
Print checklist
- Match every label to the seating chart spelling
- Print at Actual Size / 100% on cardstock
- Prefer tent-fold or holders sized 4×6 / 5×7 for distance reading
- Generate the full set in one PDF with the table number maker instead of designing each digit by hand
