What You'll Need

A list of guest names (can be a spreadsheet or you can type them in manually)
A printer and cardstock paper
5 minutes

Step 1: Open the Designer

Go to Place Card Designer. No account required to start.

You'll see a canvas on the right and a sidebar on the left with tabs for Data, Templates, Elements, and Design.

Step 2: Choose a Template

Click the Templates tab in the sidebar. Browse styles by category:

Wedding — floral, elegant, and classic designs
Birthday — colorful and festive
Elegant — gold, formal, and luxury styles
Minimal — clean and modern

Can't decide? Try the Templates Gallery to preview all options side by side, then come back to the designer.

Click any template to apply it instantly.

Step 3: Add Your Guest Names

Option A — Type names manually: Click the Data tab → click Add Row → type each guest's name and table number.

Option B — Import from spreadsheet (fastest for 10+ guests):

Go to Import Guest List
Upload your Excel or CSV file
Map columns (Name, Table Number, Meal Choice)
Click Open Place Card Designer — your list loads automatically

Step 4: Customize Colors & Fonts

Click the Design tab to adjust:

Background color
Font family, size, and color
Card dimensions (default: 88.9×50.8 mm / 3.5×2")

For tent-fold cards, set the height to 101.6 mm (4") — fold along the center line after printing.

Step 5: Download PDF & Print

Click Export PDF in the top toolbar
Open the PDF in your browser or PDF viewer
Print at 100% scale (Actual Size) — do not "fit to page"
Use 80–100 lb cardstock for best results

Print Layout Tips

6 cards per sheet (3×2 grid): works with Avery 5388 tent cards
10 cards per sheet (5×2 grid): good for flat 3.5×2" cards
Adjust in Print Layout settings in the toolbar

Quick Troubleshooting

Problem	Fix
Cards cut off at edges	Print at 100%, not "fit to page"
Names not showing	Check Data tab — rows must have a name entry
Wrong size	Adjust width/height in Design tab
Tent card won't fold cleanly	Score the fold line with a bone folder before folding
